Fraudulent emails purportedly issued by Inland Revenue Department

     The Inland Revenue Department today (October 10) alerted members of the public to fraudulent emails purportedly issued by the department from email accounts similar to xxx@ird.gov.hk. The emails include attached documents under the titles "Form_ird.gov.hk.zip", "File_2183065.zip", "File_4730881.zip", etc, which contain a computer virus.

    The department has no connection with the fraudulent emails and has reported the case to the Police for further investigation. Members of the public are reminded not to open any suspicious emails.
