Fraudulent email purportedly issued by Inland Revenue Department

     The Inland Revenue Department today (August 26) alerted members of the public to a fraudulent email purportedly issued by the department from the email account "info.pbsb@synerlitz.com.my". The email requests the recipient to settle outstanding tax as soon as possible. Attached to the email is a document  titled "Tax Invoice.zip", which may contain a computer virus.

    The department has no connection with the fraudulent email and has reported the case to the Police for further investigation. Members of the public are reminded not to open any suspicious emails.
