Information on Inland Revenue Department post office boxes available online

     The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) today (May 6) reminded members of the public that its post office box numbers have been uploaded to the IRD website for verification.

     The IRD notes that queries have recently been posted on the Internet on whether there are fake Tax Returns - Individuals claiming to be issued by the IRD, given that the post office box numbers shown on the reply envelopes are not the most common post office box address (GPO Box 132, Hong Kong).

     Members of the public are reminded that the IRD uses different post office boxes to handle the large amounts of returns and letters received to facilitate classification and processing. Members of the public may visit the IRD website's "Post Office Boxes of IRD" page under "Contact Us" or click the link www.ird.gov.hk/eng/cu_pobox.htm to view the post office box numbers.
