Multiple Tagging Function - Tax Computation & Financial Statements
In this video, we shall walk you through the multiple tagging function of the IRD iXBRL Data Preparation Tools for tax computation and financial statements.
Users can perform multiple tagging to tag the same portion of text twice using distinct concepts in manual tagging. The multiple tagging function supports all datatypes but the datatypes of the first and second tags must be the same. The multiple tagging function is only applicable to the Tagging Tool.
Step 1: | Taking dividend income as an example, users are able to tag the value as both “Dividend Income” and “Revenue” at the same time. Users should create the first tag for the item via manual tagging.
Step 2: | Select the tagged item. Users either click the “Manual Tag” button on the top panel for tax computation, or right-click the tagged item and select “Manual Tag” for tax computation and financial statements. A pop-up box will appear.
Step 3: | By inserting key words in the “Search Taxonomy” bar, search results will pop up and users can select the most appropriate option.
Step 4: | (a) | Click “OK” to proceed. Multiple tags will be indicated by a light orange background color. |
(b) | The small red triangle appearing on the upper right corner of the financial data indicates that the item has been successfully tagged.
Step 5: | (a) | When the mouse hovers the tagged item, a comment box with preferred labels will be popped up. |
(b) | The preferred label for the first tag is displayed on the upper row of the comment box.
(c) | The preferred label for the second tag is displayed on the lower row of the comment box.
Step 6: | (a) | If users would like to edit, remove or edit tag attribute of multiple tags, right-click the tagged item and select the appropriate action. |
(b) | A panel will pop up for users to choose which element to be edited or removed. |
