Notification of Change of Postal Address
Under the provisions of the Inland Revenue Ordinance, taxpayers are required to notify the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) of any change of address within one month of the event.
In practice, however, you should inform the IRD of any change in postal address as early as possible so as to ensure that tax returns, notices of assessment and other correspondence can be sent to your correct address promptly.
You may notify the IRD of your change of address by any of the methods described below:
- By completing the Form IR1249
- By writing a letter to the IRD
- By completing the Tax Return – Individuals
- By notification through GovHK
- By eTAX
